Fractional to Full-Time Track — Expenses Fully Covered
Position Overview
We are seeking a Chief of Staff to support our leadership team and amplify our market presence — starting as a fractional role with a clear path to full-time employment.
You will be the operational and strategic right hand to our executive leadership, with primary focus on accompanying our CEO to industry events and speaking engagements — both locally and globally. Your core mission: maximize executive visibility, engage target attendees in meaningful conversations, capture qualified leads in real-time, and seamlessly hand off opportunities to our sales team for closing.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, excels at building relationships, manages complexity with grace, and is looking to grow into a full-time strategic leadership position as our business scales.
About Your Leader
You'll be working directly with Jason Gorham, the inventor of programmatic job advertising and a visionary leader in tech talent acquisition and recruitment innovation. Jason's pioneering work has transformed how companies find and hire technical talent at scale. In this role, you'll partner with Jason to expand the company's market presence, build strategic relationships with industry leaders, and drive business development initiatives that showcase our cutting-edge approach to solving the talent crisis.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support & Presence Management
- Accompany CEO to speaking engagements, conferences, panels, networking events, and industry summits
- Manage CEO's event experience: logistics, materials, speaker flow, timing, and on-site coordination
- Ensure seamless event execution: booth setup, collateral, signage, brand presence
- Facilitate strategic introductions and networking aligned with business objectives
Lead Capture & Business Development
- Identify, engage, and capture information from target attendees before, during, and after the CEO's presentation
- Conduct discovery conversations to qualify interest and assess company fit
- Use a mobile CRM to log attendee data in real-time and segment by priority
- Build rapport and represent the company brand authentically at executive level
Lead Handoff & Sales Enablement
- Compile a comprehensive lead database with discovery notes within 24 hours of each event
- Hand off leads with clear priorities and insights on each prospect
- Provide event debrief: engagement numbers, lead quality, messaging effectiveness, competitive intel
- Track lead conversion and provide feedback to sales on follow-up effectiveness
Strategic Event Planning & Scouting
- Recommend high-value speaking and networking opportunities aligned with strategy
- Scout local events (Miami/Ft Lauderdale) and global conferences quarterly
- Manage timelines, registrations, logistics, travel, and pre-event briefings
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years in business development, sales, events, executive support, or related roles
- Proven ability to build relationships with C-level executives
- Strong written and verbal communication; comfort in high-stakes networking
- Detail-oriented and highly organized; able to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, spreadsheets, and project management tools
- High energy and comfort in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Flexibility and comfort with frequent travel (local and international)
- Professional demeanor representing the company brand at all levels
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Chief of Staff, EA, or executive business partner experience
- Background in recruiting, staffing, tech, or B2B SaaS
- Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, and sales enablement tools
- Existing network of C-level executives or industry decision-makers
- Experience launching or scaling business development initiatives
Role Structure & Timeline
Phase 1: Fractional Contract (0–3 months)
- Event-based contract work: paid per event attended
- Typical schedule: 2–4 local events per month (Miami/Ft Lauderdale) + occasional global events
- Flexible commitment: work only when events are scheduled
- All work-related expenses fully covered (travel, hotels, meals, ground transportation)
Phase 2: Full-Time Employment (Month 3+)
- Transition to salaried, full-time Chief of Staff position
- Expanded responsibilities: BD strategy, event strategy, team leadership, executive partnership
- Full benefits: health/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, professional development
- All work-related expenses continue to be fully covered
Compensation
Phase 1: Event-based pay (flat fee or hourly, based on duration and travel), issued within 2 weeks of event completion upon lead list submission. Expenses reimbursed within 5 business days. Bonus opportunity for exceeding lead quality and conversion targets.
Phase 2: Competitive salary (determined by fractional-phase performance), full benefits package, and performance bonus tied to lead quality and business development metrics.
